WEATHER ALERT: Looks like it's going to be a little chilly on Saturday. If it's not raining, we're still planning to have the ceremony outdoors, so dress for the weather. There is plenty of space in the coat room! Wear your hoodies, flannels, Carhartt's, and be cozy.

How We Met

"The internet is not a big truck, it's a series of tubes!" - Ted Stevens

We'd love to tell you it was some enchanted meet-cute, but our humble beginnings consisted of two mostly honest profiles and an algorithm.

The Proposal

"It pays to be obvious, especially if you have a reputation for subtlety." - Isaac Asimov

It was a huge surprise, Tara had no idea it was coming *eyeroll*. On a trip up north to visit Rob and Julia in Gulliver, Phil booked a room up in Grand Marais for fun, no reason, not the least bit suspicious. Anyway, after a day of hiking, taking pictures of waterfalls, and peeing in front of some unsuspecting Eastern Europeans, we took a sunset stroll on the beach. We sat on a log where we were subsequently bum rushed by two thrashing deer. As soon as we found another log, with better visibility for oncoming wildlife, Phil took his sweet ass time doing the thing that was obviously coming. But, greatness can't be rushed. Tara said yes and we spent the night walking the beach looking for Yooper rocks on the shores of Lake Superior. We went back to the B&B where our awesome host had champagne and chocolate for us in celebration. We tossed it all in a backpack and went back to the beach to watch the stars. We laid on a pier by the beach, drank champagne, and saw more shooting stars than either of us had ever seen. Turns out it was a meteor shower. Romantic...and totally on purpose.
